Noremac's Jewelcrafting Policy Pricing Policy

->Jewelery Guide Home ->Jewelery Requests ->Price Policy ->Components and Costs ->Trivial Chart ->Imbued Jewelery

Ok Noremac, we've read your policies on jewelry requests…jeeze, why bother? Well here is why. I love my guild. Mythrilmoon rocks! But if you give 30 people a $100 bill and say I trust you to give it back later, chances are one of them…well you know--that's why the above policies are kinda strict-because I am making you a deal.

I) Anything I fail on, you lose money for.

II) Anything I succeed on is yours at cost plus a small markup for the metal. I worked very hard and spent a ton of money to get my skill up. So, I will charge a very small markup to help recover some of the cost. Believe me, I am not going to get rich off this policy! You are still getting a HUGE sale price. The markup charged will be based on the metal used, and will have no bearing on the gem used. The markup is as follows:

* Silver will have a 5 plat markup
* Electrum will have a 5 plat markup
* Gold will have a 10 plat markup
* Platinum will have a 50 plat markup
* Velium will have a 75 plat markup

For Example: If you want a Platinum Ruby Veil, plat bars cost me 105 plat, and rubies cost me 132 plat. So, you will pay me 132+105 to attempt. If I fail you pay me no more. Just the cost to attempt again a second time if you want me to. If I succeed you pay me 132+105=237 PLUS the 50 plat markup for a total of 287pp.

III) If I fail on an item and you elect to, I will make the same item for you at cost with NO markup. So if I fail on that Plat Ruby Veil and you give me another 237 to attempt, you don't pay the 50 pp markup if I succeed. Also, I prefer to craft right in front of you, so if I fail you get the message that I failed. But, unless you specifically request it in your email, I will make it at my leisure AFTER you have paid me the cost of the materials. The markup cost is not needed until I hand over your new shiny ring.

IV) Keep the price policy in mind when you request your jewelry. Also keep in mind what my skill is, and when the item you are requesting trivials. If you want me to make you a plat ruby veil, chances are higher that I may fail on it. But, as for a Silver Ruby Veil, I should succeed 95% of the time. (Keep in mind should…its always a risk and that is why I prefer to have you present in case I fail).

V) There is no reason for anybody to ever have the smallest doubt in his or her mind about my integrity and honesty. If you have not specifically requested to be present when I craft, and I fail (even on a trivial item…sometimes it does happen) you have no reason to question me. I would never ever in a million years do anything to hurt any of you economically-in game or in RL. In RL I audit businesses. I make sure everything is honest, and there are no reasons for concern. That carries over in game. If you have a natural distrust of people, or distrust me even in the slightest (hey, some people do for whatever reason…) then make a specific request in your email to be present when I craft your item.

VI) When you order your jewelry, you need to give me the money or materials for the combine ahead of time. If you elect to give me the money and let me purchase the items for you, then you should give me only what it costs for me to make the item. Then if I succeed, when I trade you the item, you give me the markup and the transaction is done. If I fail there is no other transaction needed unless you want me to try again.

VII) For you comparison, standard jewelcrafting policy is to charge 1.5 and 2 times cost for trivial items and between 2 and 2.5 times cost for non-trivial items. In our example above, a normal jewelcrafter would charge 2 times the cost of a plat ruby veil because it is never trivial. This means from a normal jeweler you would pay 237 * 2 or 474 plat for a ruby veil. Under my policy you would pay 287 if I succeed and 474 if I fail the first time and succeed the second time.
